Located less than an hour from midtown Manhattan, William Maxwell Fine Arts can be easily reached by car or by Metro-North Railroad.
From NYC by car: Take the West Side Highway north, which becomes the Henry Hudson Parkway, which then becomes the Saw Mill River Parkway. At Exit 26 bear right onto the Taconic State Parkway North. After about 12 miles exit the Taconic State Parkway at Rts. 35/202, Yorktown Heights. At the end of the ramp turn left towards Peekskill. Go 4.1 miles and make a right at the Beech Shopping Center sign. Go 0.3 miles to traffic light and make a left onto Main St./ Rt.6. Go 0.8 miles and Maxwell Fine Arts is on your right, at the corner of Main and Broad Streets.
by Train: Metro-North trains leave from Grand Central Terminal to Peekskill and take one hour. Trains from Poughkeepsie and Beacon run south to Peekskill. Trains run hourly in either direction and more frequently at rush hours. For train information visit www.mta.info or call 212-532-4900 or 800-metroinfo. From north of Poughkeepsie, take an Amtrak train to Poughkeepsie and transfer to a Metro North train. Taxis are available at the Peekskill Train Station. It is a five minute ride to Maxwell Fine Arts, approximately 1 mile.
by Bus: Take the FDR over Willis Avenue Bridge, make left onto NYS Thruway 87 (Major Deegan Expressway North). Pass Yonkers, then through Toll Plaza, and after approximately 6 miles take exit onto 87 and 287 West 9 towards Tappan Zee Bridge). Continue on Rt. 9 North approximately 14 miles. Take exit Rt. 6/202 on right East towards Peekskill. At top of exit turn left (East) onto Rt. 6 (Main Street) for 1 mile. Maxwell Fine Arts is on your left.
